About the artist

Allison Hartzvelder is an American freelance illustrator and graphic designer based in New York City.  

Allison’s illustrations are primarily black and white and are mainly centered around nature. She has been commissioned for tattoo designs, prints, and logos. She is often inspired by the beauty of the everyday things around her.  

Her graphic design work has largely been media for promoting theatre productions.  Her most notable graphic design work is the poster and promotional materials for the Off-Broadway sensation, Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical. 

She holds a BA in Theatre Arts: Production & Design where she spent four years delving into the visuals of storytelling. Allison firmly believes that while a picture is worth a thousand words, the way it makes one feel is worth a million.  She carries a love for storytelling and the power of emotional invocation with her as she approaches her work. 

When she isn’t drawing, she can be found advocating for human rights or curled up with a book.  Allison is an animal-lover-at-heart who has never been known to turn down a cup of coffee.
